It is obvious that Caz's fascination and childlike wonder with the colours of our world has touched many people through her paintings. The textured, vivid style she has to offer is one that attracts decorators, corporate collectors and private buyers alike. Her work is a dynamic interplay of colour, shape and pattern. Caz Novak's work is unique." Caz Novak: Click to see Daily News article
Shan Hamson: Director, Delshan Modern Art Gallery, Melbourne, AUSTRALIA.

Caz Novak was born in Wellington, New Zealand and completed a three-year course at Wellington College of Education from 1983-85, majoring in art. She then went on to pursue her teaching career, incorporating her passion for the creative. During this time Caz regularly ran art extension classes for children and adults in a variety of media.

As a full-time artist, her work is now widely recognised for its vibrant use of colour and texture which incorporates both impasto and sgraffito techniques. "My palette reflects the brilliant colour we experience in nature and the impasto paintwork provides a sculptural element to my paintings."

Along with her husband and two children, Caz now lives on a beautiful West Coast beach in Taranaki, New Zealand. Some of her work is directly inspired by this environment and also the beautiful public gardens close to her home, while other pieces depict her travels in Europe and the Pacific Islands. Demand for her work exceeds supply, with her paintings held in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, United States, Europe, Brunei, China and the U.K. Caz also paints to commission and her home studio is open by appointment. Stunning sea front accommodation is available nearby at the Ahu Ahu Beach Villas.

Her work has featured in NZ House & Garden magazine (June 1999), Next magazine (October 2000), and is listed in The Concise Dictionary of New Zealand Artists (2000). She also exhibited at The Biennale of Contemporary Art, Florence, ITALY 2003.

More recently NZ House & Garden magazine has featured Caz's work and home environment in it's February 2010 edition, (website usage kindly permitted by NZ House & Garden).

Testimonials

"I have just got it out of the box and it is gorgeous! The image from the computer just didn't do it justice. We will own our piece of art with immense pride. My daughter Emily looked at it and said "That's home Mum".
M. McChesney, Brunei

"The painting arrived yesterday safe and sound. It is absolutely amazing, better than we imagined. You are an extremely talented artist, you have captured the scene perfectly. Thank you so much for giving us a piece of New Zealand for our home."
K. Burton, USA.

"I first saw examples of Caz Novak's work in the NZ House and Garden Magazine and was captivated by her use of vibrant colours. After visiting her web site I fell in love with Beach Dwellers II and was fortunate enough to buy it! We are now based in Washington DC on a 3 year Air Force Attache Tour and we have brought the painting over with us to help remind us of 'home' and to show our international guests a beautiful example of New Zealand art. International guests we have entertained in our home have been very impressed with Beach Dwellers II and are fascinated with the colours and brilliance of Caz's work. Not only are they impressed with the overall 'presence' of the painting - but also how it captures their attention. I am very proud to be able to display Caz's art in my home in order to promote such a talented New Zealand Artist!"
K. Wright, U.S.A

" On even the grayest, rainy Seattle day Caz Novak´s glorious “Summertime” brings a welcome ray of sunshine…"
C. Dewar, U.S.A.

"While searching the net for an ecard I came across a image that really caught my eye. The picture was by Caz Novak from New Zealand. After viewing her gallery of artworks on her website I decided I wanted a painting of my own. Caz notified me when she had a painting available. I jumped at the chance to buy it and "Pacifica" was delivered when promised and in perfect condition. I am very happy with the painting - it is lovely."
D. Lasater , U.S.A

"I first became aware of Caz Novak and her paintings in an article featured in NZ House and Garden. Her paintings are so vibrant and uplifting I decided then and there that I must have one. When the web site became available I logged on with excitement only to find that everything I liked best had been sold and I really did want some "Poppies" on my wall. I was even more excited when Caz emailed me to say that she had completed another painting in her "Poppies" series. Since then I have looked forward immensely to the emails from Caz with "New work" in the subject line. We are the proud owners of four Caz Novak originals and I certainly hope that our collection will not stop there!"
K. Stowell, New Zealand

"We have been fans of Caz Novak's work ever since we first saw some examples, and have three of her paintings, plus one commissioned for our daughter as a wedding present. We find her use of such positive colour very striking, and there is no question that those we own lend a distinct character to the rooms in which they are displayed."
J. & V. Sargeant, New Zealand

"Wow...wow...this is so good. We really, really like the painting and it's so much better than the photo. It's got real depth and the colours are fantastic, the flax jumps out at you and you can almost see it move in the gentle sea breeze. The sea has movement in it and we can almost hear the surf. So many different colours of green too. We sat in the chairs opposite and just gazed at it and every time we saw something new."
D. Ottervanger, Holland.
